A 9-year-old boy, whose surgery was sponsored by the late Dr Omane Boamah, attended his State funeral to pay respect to him.
According to a post on Facebook by Bone Man TV, the young boy was not allowed in, but knows wherever Dr Omane Boama’s soul is will be very Happy Seeing Setor Today.
A philanthropist who brought Setor’s plight to light revealed how Dr Omane Boamah fulfilled his promise.
He stated, “Ghana’s Defence Minister, Dr Omane Boamah, generously paid for the entire cost of surgery for 9-year-old Setor, who previously walked to school using a plastic chair. A few weeks ago, I reported that the Defence Minister had pledged to cover Setor’s surgery costs. Not only did he honor his commitment, but he also maintained regular contact with the boy, calling almost daily to check on his well-being despite his busy schedule.
“Dr Omane Boamah’s kindness and compassion are truly remarkable, as evidenced by his humility, love, and care throughout this process, despite us never having met. He invited me to his ministry, where he fully paid for Setor’s surgery and committed to providing additional support,” Bones Man wrote.
Sharing pictures he took with Setor at the funeral, Bones Man disclosed that the 9-year-old had expressed sadness following the passing of his benefactor.
“We are here. Although protocols didn’t allow us closer, I know wherever Dr Omane Boamah’s soul is, it will be very happy seeing Setor today. We came with his plastic chair to represent the means by which the boy used to walk and how Dr Omane Boamah intervened. Setor has been very sad since we arrived, but I am happy the little boy was able to pay his last respects,” the philanthropist wrote.
