“Don’t punish me for another person’s actions” – Dr Bawumia appeals to NPP delegates

News“Don’t punish me for another person's actions” - Dr Bawumia appeals to NPP delegates

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former vice president and presidential aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has appealed to party delegates not to punish him for the sins of another person.

According to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, he does not have any issues with any delegates, so they should not attach anyone’s issues to him to destroy him.

Speaking to some NPP delegates, Dr Mahamaudu Bawumia stated, “I want all of you to know, I am the one on the ballot; it is not someone else. Maybe someone has made a mistake against you who is part of my campaign team, don’t let your hatred for him be attached to me, I don’t have anyone issues with you.

Don’t let anyone’s problem be attached to me. If you vote for me, I will come and help you. So, I am begging you, don’t let anyone issues be attached to me to destroy my life. So, give me your vote. I do not have any issue with you. I thank you”, he added.

Also, Awal Mohammed, a Communications Aide to the campaign team of Dr Mahamudu  Bawumia, has said the former vice president is not corrupt.

According to Awal Mohammed, there is no single scandal against Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

He further described Dr Bawumia as the NPP’s most marketed and most formidable candidate going into the 2028 elections.

Speaking on The Verdict on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Awal Mohammed stated, “Team Bawumia are focused on an issue-based campaign, and we believe he is the most marketed and most formidable candidate going into the 2028 elections,” he said.

He added, “Dr Bawumia is the most popular candidate in the country; he is the most prepared. In terms of governance, he has the experience and is ready to ascend the high office as President of Ghana.”

“Dr Bryan Acheampong lost the Suhum seat in 2012 due to financial constraints, hence he should not claim he financed the party prior to the 2024 election,” he asserted.

“No single person in Bawumia’s camp has issues with anyone who has endorsed any of the flagbearer hopefuls,” he noted.

He further added, “Team Bawumia have never issued a statement on the two MPs who endorsed Bryan Acheampong; it is within their constitutional right. Bryan Acheampong berated the 15 MPs in the Eastern Region who have endorsed Dr Bawumia”.

Additionally, Rev John Ntim Fordjour has said God has anointed Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to the promised land in 2028.

According to Rev Ntim Fordjour, God can take anyone and anoint them, be it a Christian or a Muslim.

He claimed that God’s anointing is on Dr Bawumia to lead Ghana into prosperity.

Speaking at Mankessim during Dr Bawumia’s Central Region tour on Tuesday, September 30, Rev Fordjour stated, “I’m a Christian, I’m a pastor, and the Bible I read tells me that God is no respecter of persons. God can take anyone and anoint them, and it doesn’t matter whether the person is a Christian or a Muslim. He can use them to rule over His country and make His people prosper.

“The person I have seen such an anointing on is Dr Bawumia. The one God has anointed to lead us to the promised land in 2028 is Dr Bawumia,” he declared.

Rev Ntim further highlighted that no NDC presidential candidate can be compared to Dr Bawumia.

“My brothers and sisters, my elders, I beg of you – just take a look at all the leaders in the NPP, and also at those who have announced their intention to lead the NDC, and compare. Tell me, who among them, if we put them up against Dr Bawumia, can stand him? Who? There’s nobody”.

“If we change Dr Bawumia, we will miss the penalty”, Rev Ntim Fordjour added.
