The family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, Founder and Leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana and Kantanka Group of Companies, has warned the general public against conducting any business transactions or funeral-related dealings with Israel Kwadwo Safo, alias Nana Kwadwo Akofena.
According to the family, no individual has been authorised to act on behalf of the family in any transactions related to the businesses of the late Apostle or the organisation of his funeral.
In a statement signed by the family’s spokesperson warn the public from engaging in any financial, contractual, or organisational dealings with Kwadwo Safo Jnr, the former CEO of the Kantanka Group of Companies, the second son and fifth born of the late Apostle.
“The family of the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo wishes to inform the general public that no individual, including Mr Kwadwo Safo Jnr, has been authorised to act on behalf of the family in any transactions related to the businesses of the late Apostle or in connection with the organisation of his funeral. The public is advised to desist from dealing with him on such matters,” the statement read in part.
The family added that official communication channels will be announced in due course.
The late Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s death was announced on Sunday, 14, 2025.
The news was announced in a statement by Sarah Adwoa Safo (former MP for Dome Kwabenya).
According to the statement, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo passed away peacefully on Thursday, 11th September 2025.
The family described him, saying, “Apostle Safo was a true genius, the beacon of hope for many, a father to the fatherless. Ghana has indeed lost a gallant son and a true legend”.
Kwadwo Safo Junior, son of the late Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, after his death shared a post on social media reacting to his father’s death.
Apostle Kantanka’s son noted that a true legend never dies.
He further encouraged Ghanaians to show what they have learnt from his father when he was alive.
In a post shared on his Instagram story on September 14, 2025, Kwadwo Safo Junior wrote, “A true legend never dies. He still lives on in all of us,” he said.
This is the time to show what we have been taught. This is the time to trust the training and process”, he added.
Meanwhile, Lawyer Festus Owusu Badu has been sworn in as acting Chairman of the General Council of the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana.
He has been tasked with carrying forward the legacy of the Church’s late founder, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
In a viral video, Lawyer Festus Owusu Badu was clothed in a beautiful kente as he was sworn in as the chairman.
His swearing in was greeted with loud cheers from the Kristo Asafo Mission congregants.
