The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced that they have detained former Ghana Airports Company Limited Board Chair, Paul Adom-Otchere.
According to the OSP, they have interviewed Paul Adom Otchere and two others, and they were formally charged.
The OSP revealed that Adom Otchere failed to meet the bail condition, as he claimed he did not own any landed property in Ghana.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor in a post on X yesterday, July 31, 2025, stated, “The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has interviewed and formally charged the former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, Paul Adom-Otchere and two others. However, Mr Adom-Otchere has so far been unable to meet his bail conditions.
He is required to present two landed properties (of no specific value) registered in his name. However, he has informed the OSP that he does not own landed property in Ghana. As a result, he remains in custody until the bail terms are satisfied”.
“The two other persons are Otchere Kwame Baffour Awuah, Group Executive, Commercial Services, GACL, An Albert Adjetey Adjei-Laryea, CEO of Devnest Systems”.
The OSP further revealed details of their investigation against Paul Adom Otchere.
According to Adom Otchere is under investigation in connection with a revenue assurance contract between GACL and a private firm.
They added, “Mr Adom-Otchere is under investigation in connection with a revenue assurance contract between the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) and a private firm owned by the proprietor of Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML). The OSP is examining possible procurement breaches, including a sole-sourced contract awarded to a company other than the one approved by the GACL Board”.
However, Paul Adom-Otchere, on his show Good Evening Ghana, before his detention by the OSP, revealed he had no idea the contract was signed, and it was an investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure, who informed him that the GACL MD had signed the contract.
Speaking on his show, Adom-Otchere detailed, “I didn’t know they had signed the contract, some 10 days ago, Manasseh Azure called me that he was investigating this matter, so when the OSP came, all the Lawyers were wondering are they were working together.
Manasseh Azure was one of the people you had been talking about. Kissi Agyebeng is one of the people you have been talking about; they seem to be working together, but I don’t know, and it does not matter.
Manasseh Azure called me and said Who is Eva? What is the Evatest contract? And I said what was that, he said Evatest, the people doing quality assurance, I said the people who do the think SML does he said yes. I said I don’t know about it, I don’t know what it gone to”.
Paul Adom Otchere added, “It was Manasseh Azure who told me that the contract has been signed by the Managing Director on the 4th of December, three days to the election”.
