A Ghanaian man has lauded two personnel of the Ghana Police Service, who were spotted managing the traffic situation in yesterday’s heavy rains at Abeka Junction.
In the viral video shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on X, the two police women were spotted in the heavy rains directing traffic with one in protective clothing and the other in her normal MTTD uniform.
A narrator in the viral video stated, “Ghana Police God bless, look, it is raining at Abeka Junction, it is even sad, and they are standing in it, directing traffic.
Even with this, civilians will not respect the Police. Look, it is raining, but no civilians are standing in it. Ask yourself if these two women don’t have husbands at home. If you speak right now, civilians will start insulting you”.
He further added“We don’t respect the police at all; we respect our girls more than the Ghana police. Look, it’s raining, and a grown woman is standing in the rainwater.
God bless you, the Ghana Police Service. IGP, wherever these women are, look for them and praise them”.
However, some Ghanaians have reacted to the viral video saying, “Proper working Traffic lights will do this, day or night, rain or shine!! Commendable act but they shouldn’t be there in the first place”.
“Bro, under this downpour, you’re the real Ghana-tougher than trotro brakes, kinder than free taxi after church.
Be safe, but know we see you”, another added.
“I think they should be awarded, maybe with a pay raise or some huge bonus. As soon as they get promoted, trust me, you won’t see them there again”, one X user noted.
One more X user stated, “Ahhh, why is the person making the video sounding like that? You people like taking things too far, they were trained for something like this, let’s appreciate them for it, but not rather doing it in a pitiful way”.
A netizen also added, “But they do this all the time. It’s part of their job. The best we civilians can do is respect them Nd give them their flowers. When U are in a queue in a mall or anywhere and u see an officer in uniform, allow to let them to be served first”.
Additionally, a netizen noted, “One huge mistake, no safety vest 🦺 in show a weather, where it’s hard to see, drivers should have their lights on and the police should have had a vest on”.
“Ghanaians and mediocrity. If you see Electrical engineers working on high tension cables during a downpour too what will you say. It’s Their fuccing job”, a netizen added.
