Fans of Shatta Wale, commonly known as Shatta Movement, have stormed the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) on Thursday, August 21, 2025, to demand his release from custody.

In a series of viral videos on social media, a large group of Shatta Wale fans stormed the EOCO office dressed in black and red bands.

However, a member of the dancehall artiste Shatta Wale’s management, Sammy Flex, has revealed the artiste was granted GHC10 million bail.

According to Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale was granted bail with two sureties by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

In a video shared by Sammy Flex on his Facebook, he revealed that Shatta Wale’s legal team and management are working to settle the bail conditions by Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Sammy Flex has also revealed that Shatta Wale was not detained by EOCO over a money laundering probe.

According to Sammy Flex, Shatta Wale was detained over issues relating to tax obligations over his yellow Lamborghini.

He clarified concerns about Shatta Wale being detained over money laundering, as it was being speculated in the media.

Sammy Flex revealed that the dancehall artist presented himself to EOCO for the interrogation process, and they confirmed the artist was not involved in money laundering or any criminal activity.

In a video shared on X, Sammy Flex explained, “Shatta Wale went there himself this afternoon after receiving the invitation to assist in investigations into the Lamborghini and related matters. He presented himself as a law-abiding citizen and defended the fact that he bought his car”.

“After interrogation, it was clear that Shatta Wale is not involved in money laundering or any other criminal act, as some portals have falsely reported. The main issue is about tax obligations related to the vehicle”, Sammy Flex stressed.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale was detained by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

In a statement released by his management confirmed the development.

Sammy Flex, in a statement that has gone viral on X, wrote, “The management of dancehall artist Shatta Wale (Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr.) is issuing this statement following his detention by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) today.

This follows an inquiry related to tax obligations of a yellow Lamborghini vehicle. Mr. Mensah presented himself voluntarily at the EOCO offices this afternoon along with his lawyer Cephas Biyuo, to assist with investigations”.

Shatta Wale’s management further went on to assure his fans that his lawyers are working to resolve the issue.

“We want to assure all fans and the general public that his legal team is fully engaged and actively working with the authorities to resolve this matter. They are taking al necessary steps to secure his release at the earliest opportunity.

We urge the SM Family and all well-wishers to remain calm and avoid any speculation. We have the utmost confidence in the judicial process.

Management and his legal representatives will return to the EOCO offices tomorrow morning to continue these discussions.

We will provide further updates as appropriate”, the statement concluded.
